Annette McNamara is more than a photographer. She is a storyteller, a changemaker, and the driving force behind the Beautiful Strength Photo Experience, a transformative project dedicated to self-acceptance and empowerment. With over 20 years of experience behind the lens, Annette has seen firsthand how societal pressures and unrealistic beauty standards can damage self-image. Rather than reinforcing these harmful norms, she set out to challenge them in a powerful and authentic way.
In 2018, Annette launched the Beautiful Strength Photo Experience as a raw and unfiltered photography project. There is no Photoshop and no filters, just real people embracing their true selves. What began as a single photoshoot has blossomed into a nationwide movement that proves everyone, regardless of background, deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. To reach as many people as possible, Annette transformed a 40-foot school bus into a mobile photo studio. Since 2021, she has traveled over 60,000 miles, capturing more than 5,000 portraits across all 48 contiguous states, Ontario, and Mexico.
