Annette McNamara is more than a photographer—she’s a storyteller, a changemaker, and the driving force behind Beautiful Strength, a project dedicated to self-acceptance and empowerment. With over 20 years of experience in photography, Annette has witnessed firsthand how societal pressures and unrealistic beauty standards affect self-image. Instead of conforming to these norms, she set out to challenge them.In 2018, Annette launched Beautiful Strength as a raw and unfiltered photography project—no Photoshop, no filters, just real people embracing their true selves. What started as a single photoshoot quickly grew into a powerful movement, proving that everyone, regardless of background, deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.To expand the reach of this mission, Annette took Beautiful Strength on the road, converting a 40-foot school bus into a mobile photo studio. Since 2021, she has traveled over 60,000 miles, capturing more than 5,000 portraits across all 48 contiguous states, Ontario, and Mexico. Wherever there are people, there are stories to tell, and Annette is there to capture them.
