Many students will be heading home for Thanksgiving break and not returning due to COVID-related restrictions. Not exactly the college experience they have been dreaming of. But, just because their expectations of what college “should” look like may be taking a back seat, there are still some really engaging ways to keep your students involved and remind them of the beautiful campus they will someday call their alma mater. Another added benefit of programs such as these being offered while your students are remote, is the opportunity to provide hands-on, interactive moments with family members to up the ante on your morale boosting efforts (ah-hem…little sibs=future pupils for your campus!) We’ve got some ideas of how you can help maintain a sense of community and campus pride – even with most, if not all, of your student body attending virtually this winter.
We offer four really great make & take/DIY programs that students will be proud to display or use in honor of their college. Try our dry erase boards, photo puzzles, sign shop, zlippers or fan favorite, Paint Social for a program that is completely customized for your campus. Items can include an image of an iconic building on campus, your school mascot or the campus crest or logo to show some school spirit. For example, one University recently hosted a virtual marketplace event for which they sent us two photos of their favorite spots on campus and students were then able to choose one of and have that image printed on a puzzle that was then shipped directly to each student. Or, with our Virtual Paint Social our artist sends individual paint pots, paint brushes and canvases to each participant and then creates a unique work of art based on the photo of a special spot on campus or a school mascot or logo that you provide us. In addition to these items being great for boosting school morale, they’re an awesome freebie – because we know students love all things “free” and when they get the opportunity to represent their chosen college AND get something for free out of it, it’s a win-win.
Not only are these items customizable, but with each of our personalized make & takes we offer options to make your program exactly what you want and need. Students still on campus? We can bring our Make & Takes On The Go to campus and allow students to make their selections on-site with one of our designers. Or, if your students are heading home after the Thanksgiving break, we offer two options for virtual ordering – a live zoom interaction with our designers where students can make their requests and watch their image come to life, or try our virtual marketplace. With the virtual marketplace we create an order form unique to your event where participants can submit their info (including addresses for individual shipping-if you choose) and add their graphics. Our designers will fulfill the orders and get them out within 10-14 business days. We can also customize these pages/order forms to include specific images that you want them to choose from like the campus photos or graphics previously mentioned. The possibilities are endless!
