The Magic of Others: How to Experience More and Connect with Anyone

Brian Miller Headshot - Speaking 1.19

Ideal for: Orientation, RAE & leadership development, belonging/inclusion
Delivery: 45-60 min interactive presentation

By the end of this program, students will:

  • Understand how chance encounters will benefit their lives and career
  • Be inspired to leave their dorms and comfort zones
  • Learn a fun 4-step system for making meaningful connections that spells EARS

We all want students to make the most of their time on campus. But where college used to be about gaining new experiences and encountering new perspectives, today many students are perfectly happy to sit in their dorms, stay in their bubble, and avoid human contact unless absolutely necessary.

In doing so, students today are missing out on the single best thing college has to offer: other people. And yet the truth is, all of us are stronger than any of us. That’s why for students to get the most out of their college experience, they need to leave their dorms, engage in unpredictable conversations, and learn to connect deeply with others.

Everything they’ve ever wanted is on the other side of an interaction.

As a child, Brian Miller suffered from debilitating social anxiety. He was bullied and friendless until he discovered magic tricks, and through learning the art of magic learned the power of connecting with others. Today, he is on a mission to help students build connected cultures, because everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued.

Brian delivers powerful presentations that colleges across America have called “perfect,” “brilliant,” and “the best speaker we’ve ever had.” Students will walk out inspired to take the risk on human connection, armed with a handful of simple, practical tools to magically connect with anyone.
