Get a Life…Discover Your Real GPA
Making the most of the college experience to get the most from life!
What Every College Student Needs To Know®
About College Success and Community Engagement
One out of six students will drop out of school before the start of their second semester. This is why Orientation and Welcome Week programs are vital for student engagement and retention. Get A Life: Discover Your Real GPA helps students understand what the college experience really looks like, how to optimize the college experience, and the importance of getting involved and being engaged from day one! The days are looong gone when all you needed was a diploma to get you in the door for a job interview. GPA is no longer the judge of intelligence or an indicator of future success. Plus, your future significant other probably isn’t going to judge you based on your number.
It was a great day for many of us when Steve Jobs’ high school GPA was released: 2.65. He was a C student! But we all know how that story ended up: he dropped out of college, started Apple, left Apple, rejoined Apple, and then changed the world. All with a 2.65. It’s not just the number; it’s what the number means. Help your students find out what their number means: Discover your Real GPA™ and prevent a miserable career journey!
Get A Life also includes high-energy, low-cheesy, and totally relevant ice breakers! Students will engage in a thrilling experience with relevant energizers and community builders that begin with simple get-to-know-you conversations and build to outrageous, energy-driven exercises that help them become more comfortable with their peers and stretch beyond their comfort zones.
Colleges and universities have existed for more than 375 years, and students are still graduating with no clear direction or path in life. College is designed to provide students with opportunities to create the life of their dreams, so kick it off with this experience designed to guide students in making the most of college to get the most from life. <Cue theme music.>
