Showcase Category Descriptions:
Spotlight High and Low:
Spotlight Low showcases include musical attractions, comedy, novelty and other artists whose isolated price is no more than $1,500 plus travel, lodging, lights, sound & meals. Block prices must include travel. Isolated date prices may be exclusive of travel.
Spotlight High showcases include musical attractions, comedy, novelty and other artists and has no cap on pricing.
Each showcasing act in this category has 10 minutes to perform.
Speakers are chosen to cover a diverse number of topics. Based on a recent survey, school members are most interested in topics on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Mental Health, Wellness, Leadership, and LGBTQIA+. Speakers are presented in round- robin format.
Master of Ceremonies:
Emcee’s will introduce each showcase performance and entertain the audience between acts. Through comedy, music or magic, emcee attractions strengthen the overall showcase presentation and are allotted 25 minutes of Performance time for the showcase to display their unique talents
Make It & Take It:
These showcases can include activity kit making or live artists such as caricatures, balloon artists, wire writing, spray painting t-shirts, tarot card reading, etc. Make It & Take It artists are allowed to perform during all NACA® Live hours, as long as they do not interrupt staged showcase performances or other NACA® Live activities. No stage, lighting or amplification will be provided. This a full day showcase.
These showcases are intended for traditional entertainment acts
that need a longer time showcase time such as magicians, hypnotists, illusionists, mind readers, etc. Each variety showcasing act is allotted 20 minutes.
This showcase is designated for DJs to open up the showcase and bring energy to the crowd. There are two DJ showcases with 20 minutes of performance time.
Game Shows can include the likes of bingo, trivia, and other interactive games that allow for group or team play. These showcases will be shown as live, but the associates are encouraged to show how these can be done virtually or in a hybrid model. Game Show showcases are 25 minutes in length.
New to NACA Coffeehouse:
Musical acts, spoken word, etc. Any artist that can fit into a coffeehouse atmosphere. Eligible acts must be new to the NACA Live stage. Showcase length is 10 minutes.
Trending Interactive Programs:
These are meant to be interactive and engaging programs that can include group paint parties/activities, “How To” demonstrations, karaoke, lip sync battles, dance lessons, etc. These showcases will be shown as live, but the associates are encouraged to show how these can be done virtually or in a hybrid model. Showcase length is 20 minutes.
