SUPERGUSH BIOGRAPHY:

supergush melds inspired musicianship with a pop sensibility to create well-crafted tunes you can’t get out of your head – and don’t want to! Combine that with an engaging and often hilarious live show, a healthy does of professionalism, and lasting friendships that tie it all together, and you’ve got all the elements of a band poised on the brink of something big. Formed in the winter of 1996, the genesis of supergush comes from college friends Chris Krupa and Terry Clifton. Since meeting while undergraduates at LeMoyne College, the two have performed music together in various bands and as an acoustic duo. By late 1996, they were looking for something more – the opportunity to play with other musicians that took music seriously, but also wanted to have some fun in the process. After a brief search, Chris and Terry met Joe Suave, a classically trained bass player, and Rick Borczuk, a drummer who coincidentally grew up in the same neighborhood as Chris. The four of them gathered to see if it would work – and it did. The band began rehearsing and playing shows, as well as writing songs for their first recording. In the spring of 1998, supergush released their first CD, titled “gush,” to uniformly rave reviews. It became the top selling local CD the month it was released, and received 1999 SAMMY (Syracuse Area Music Award) nominations for Best Local Recording and Best Rock Band. And by 2000, supergush released their sophomore disc, “Confusion among the masses.” The result was a CD that helped the band reach fans well beyond the Central New York Area. Their third effort released in the fall of 2002 is entitled “Radius.” The CD is a live compilation that encompasses five years of shows across upstate NY. The latest release from the band is “Victims of Routine,” the fourth CD from the band that was released in the beginning of 2005. The CD shows off the true sound of the band, which has endeared fans for over seven years now. supergush has played over 1000 shows since 1997 from Crestview Hills, Kentucky, to Bangor, Maine, and everywhere in-between. Sharing the stage with acts like the Spin Doctors, Stoke 9, Fastball, and Even and Jaron, the band continues to retain what brought them together in the first place: friendship, drive, talent, and a desire to share their music with as many people as possible.
