HITS:
“L.A.-based indie artist Gabriel Mann, a remarkably talented, young pop craftsman whose soaring voice elevate his Peter Gabriel-like tunes to high drama.”

Music Connection:
“Gabriel Mann's new set of demos has been selected out of 600+ albums for Under the Radar, a new promotion by Borders and TAXI. You can also hear some of the talented piano-pounding troubadour's music in Miramax Films' My Boss' Daughter and Dimension's Ghost Ship… With influences including The Police, Peter Gabriel and Billy Joel, Gabriel Mann has fashioned a unique sound, with a voice that'll make women melt... and men weep with envy."

The Navigator:
“Every A&R rep is looking for the next John Mayer, i.e., a young artist who brings the traditional pop virtues - expressive vocals, relatable lyrics and homerun hooks - into the 21st century, in a package that's equal parts charisma and precision. By demonstrating that intelligence sells, Mayer has broken the ice for artists with something to say… One unsigned artist whose ducks are lined up like you wouldn't believe is Gabriel Mann. The San Antonian-born Mann is a bona fide Ivy Leaguer (he majored in music composition at Penn) and he looks the part, emitting a smoldering intensity set off by a scholarly pair of glasses and a truly impressive bramble bush atop his head that friends refer to affectionately as "Gabe's Jewfro." It's a look perfectly suited to a thoughtful, piano-playing frontman. While his features aren't classically chiseled, the dude exudes character, and it's apparent from the reaction he gets at gigs that there's a significant female constituency for Mann's disarming intellectuality. Mann and his bandmates have gathered their first 10 demo tracks on an album titled Tug of War, and "Lighted Up," "Go Up to Go Down," and "In Deep" are being spun on KCRW by tastemaker weekend jocks Chris Douridas and Anne Litt.” [Bud Scoppa]
