At the age of 5, Lijie moved to the United States from China. Her parents imagined her leading a traditional Asian/American lifestyle of focusing on good grades, learning to play classical piano, and proceeding to college to become anything other than an artist. But, Lijie’s plans were different from her parents’ right from the beginning. Her curiosity of the thoughts behind people’s actions, and her never fail habit of falling hard and fast in love became the impetus for her lyrics, melody lines and eventually songs.
