How to Throw the Ultimate Football Party

Whether your football’s biggest fan or just there for the snacks, everyone loves a good Super Bowl Party. This year, we watch the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the New England Patriots, and Justin Timberlake returns to the Super Bowl half-time stage, becoming the first artist with three Super Bowl performances.

No plans yet for the big game this year? Don’t worry, Neon Entertainment is here to give you all the steps to throwing the ultimate last-minute party!

1.Decide How You’re Going to Watch the Game

This, by far, is the most important part of a Super Bowl party. It’s why everyone is there. Although, it seems pretty simple, your guests won’t be too happy if they can’t watch the game. If you don’t have cable, or even an antenna, and still want to stream the game try Hulu Live. Hulu offers a free 7 day trial for the service. Other streaming services that will have the live game are NBC Sports, Apple TV, Roku, Android TV Chromecast, Amazon Fire, and Xbox One.

Bonus! If you have an extra TV, throw the Puppy Bowl on for your guests who like a little less sport and a lot more cute!

2.The Invite List

There’s no going wrong with the invite list. Family and friends alike love the sport and if they aren’t the biggest fans, there are always at least a few great commercials worth watching. Since, it’s getting pretty close to date, it might be hard to send out personalized invitations. Try one of these super easy and fast ways to get the word out.

Facebook Events: The more widely used of the two choices, and probably the quickest. If everyone (or mostly everyone) on your list is on Facebook this is a no-brainer! Simply create an event and start inviting friends.

Pro tip: post fun updates about your party planning to get your guests excited!

Punchbowl: Create memorable e-vites with a free Punchbowl account. You can invite up to 100 guests to your party for free via unforgettable emails.

3.Plan the Menu

Snacks are key to any party, but Super Bowl snacks are vital! Our favorite culinary master, Chef Egg gave us some pretty amazing recipes for our party. Check out his recipes for Fresh Pico De Gallo, Chorizo and Potato Tostadas, or Salsa Roja. Here’s Chef Egg’s recipe for the game day classic, Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings!

Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings by Chef Egg

Chicken wings are one of my all time favorite foods. The problem is that I don’t like to fry food in my house. Besides being extremely dangerous and unhealthy, it opens up the door to frying just about anything ie. fries, tots, snickers, Oreos, ice cream, Twinkies, eggrolls, a boot, you get the picture.

Try this recipe for baked wings and get the same crispy results you would at a restaurant without all of the oil. If you don’t like Buffalo sauce, toss your wings with teriyaki, curry, BBQ, and adobo sauces. You can also give dry seasonings a go like Old Bay, Ranch, Jamaican Jerk and Italian.

Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings

3 lbs. Chicken Wings, Cut into 2 portions
2 tbsp. Oil
1 tbsp. Salt and Pepper
2 C Hot Sauce
4 tbsp. Butter
2 tbsp. Vinegar
2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce

Pre heat the oven to 450 F. Place the chicken wing into a bowl and toss with oil, salt and pepper to coat well. Arrange the wings on a baking sheet and bake for 30 – 40 minutes or until golden brown. Prepare the buffalo sauce by placing the hot sauce, butter, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce into a pan and simmering over medium heat and reducing by half. When the wings are done, add them to the pan and toss to coat well.
